Mixed In Key Mashup App Reviews

14 Customer Reviews:

A great idea, mashups made simple. However there are so many bugs (including in version 2.5.1) that things can quickly get very complex. Requires to restart the software regularly or you get songs without waveforms, selection issues, sound level changes that aren’t taken in consideration or undos that don’t really work. Really not worth the money right now. Would love to be able to get a refund.

Its great for making mashups very easy to learn and get used to. I would recommend it for anyone one who is wants to make there own mashups or who is a beginner at djing or music production because its very easy to get used too. You can combine any song that has around the same bpm which personally is great! I love and will continue to use it!

This software makes even easy editing a chore. Great idea but it seems to paste things where it likes and Undo doesnt always undo!? I am going back to Logic.

Where do I start?! The waveforms do not match the music, the interface is bland, and worst of all, it doesn’t do much more than play music files together. For what I paid, the app should do something right. This app is an embarrassment and I regret the purchase every time I open it.

Bought in App Store. App starts and you drag music to it. It says processing then the tracks disappear. Can not create a Mashup or load an mp3. Should be removed by Apple from the store

I’ve been using the iMashup app for awhile, it’s a two track mixing app that is nice to have when on the go but this is sooooo much better. Way more features. Can mix as many songs as I want, add effects, and it is so much faster at analyzing tracks.

I bought the older version from the App Store in 2012, and it hasn’t been updated in a while. I’m glad they finally released the update because it was long overdue. The new version has the latest key detection that they’ve been advertising as the most accurate. So far, so good. This software makes Mashups and it’s pretty easy to use. I find it faster than Ableton Live for basic projects

I bought this app thinking that it would be a useful tool for me to use, especially because it was recommend as the editors choice. Once I opened this app, I immediately recognized that this was nothing like I expected it to be. Hoping that it was just my lack of understanding of how to operate this app I began to familiarize myself with the tools. After I had done this, I came to the conclusion that this application is far to basic, without any really "must have features" or powerful editing tools. I simply cannot justify paying $39.99 for an app that basically lets me control the volume of music tracks. I could have easily done everything this app does in Garageband, which I do have. It is for this reason that I am requesting a refund.

There’s not a ton of bells and whistles but I love that this app automatically beat matches samples you drag into it. I made my first mashup and I’ve never created a piece of music before.

This app wont make you the latest or greatest mixing artist, but if you’re interested in music mixing at all this is a great place to start, and the price is fairly low compared to other software. Makes matching songs easy, and has enough edditing and special effects options for any begginner or intermediate mixing artist. A great starting point for future mixers…

A few small but key improvements would make this one of the best DJ apps out there. There needs to be more quick keys to make this a seamless and popular app. First include a play from start quick key like Enter or backslash. Copy/Pasting is laggy. Make looping an option. Integrate itunes into the applicaiton so the consumer doesn’t have to import all of their music. DJay manages to do that. Add effects like fade, echo, reverb, flanger, etc. This has a ton of potential. If the creators make a few changes I imagine they would make a killing. Until then, this is very average.

Worst app I’ve bought

This was the worst purchase I’ve made. It’s hard to use, and does not do much. Audacity is better, save your money.

This app has a great appearance and is user friendly. That being said, it is focused more on the appearance then the music making. This application is worth maybe .99 cents. It gets the basic job completed, but when you pay 30 dollars for a mashup music application you expect to be able to cut the soundtrack at specific, detailed places. This application will not let you do that. Example: you are able to zoom in very close up, which is a huge plus! However, if you decide to trim a specific part of the song in the visualized stream, it cannot cut at that exact point. It will vear to the left or right depending on where the closest beat/rhythm visual point is. Do not purchase this application if you are looking for more detail oriented software. This should not be for sale for 30 dollars, huge rip off. Add more detail, (such as being able to cut the song at certain points) and this application would be gold. Absolute gold. Please update the application!
